A Life Immersed in Nature’s Wisdom
Nestled in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, surrounded by ancient pines and the eternal song of mountain rivers, I’ve dedicated my life to listening to what nature has to teach us.
Through years of solitary contemplation and deep observation, I’ve come to understand that the mountains hold sermons in their stones, and the trees speak in tongues older than human language.

Sermons in Stones
There are ghosts in the mountains, and whispers in the wind. Voices from the river are an invitation to journey through woods and canyons etched by time — to connect to purpose, truth, and meaning.
Sermons in Stones is a celebration of family, friends, and fly fishing from a man caught between the pull of the modern world and the quieter rhythms of Colorado mountain life.

Tongues in Trees
These are stories about the land that holds us, the voices that linger, and what we learn when we stay long enough to listen.
Lyrical, reflective essays rooted in the canyons and high country of northern Colorado — exploring inheritance, solitude, and the quiet ways wild places teach us who we are.

Dead or alive
Every creature is better alive than dead, men and moose and pine trees, and he who understands it aright will rather preserve its life than destroy it. ~ Henry David Thoreau I keep forensic evidence of the two murders I’ve committed hanging in an art gallery in the corner of the cabin. The first murder…
